The Driving Urban Transitions Partnership Position Paper titled “Regenerative Neighbourhoods: European Cases, Insights, and Initiatives” is out, and includes an article co-written by Yilmaz Vurucu and Bahanur Nasya.
In it, they share their experiences on how film and storytelling can be used as a powerful tool – one that creates awareness, transfers knowledge, inspires dialogue and participation, legitimizes & validates the experiences of differing standpoints in society.
Have a look at the paper, if interested, our article is on page 39 titled “The Right to a Fair City”:

The article makes use of the the experience and know-how gained during public screenings, including those organized during the Park(ING) Day for Fitness project X-arts was a partner in, and relays how stories serve as a valuable tool in activation and inspiration.
The pop-up screen used during the event in Favoriten (Vienna) introduced residents to a series of curated films on our urban environment, and sparked lively debates on how our streets could be activated and utilized by citizens.
Park(ING) day for fitness was an EU funded Erasmus Sports project that aimed to draw attention to the many (untapped) possibilities that our cities offer for physical activity.
In this Wohnstrasse event, we partnered up with Cycle Cinema Club for an afternoon of films on transforming our urban environments!
