Using arts and storytelling

as a tool for social change

16 inspiring cases from all around Europe: Open Heritage

Yilmaz Vurucu traversed across Europe with Levente Polyak to create this unique documentary series, which focuses on unique sites and initiatives that have utilized urban spaces to transform communities, foster exchange and promote inclusiveness. These documentaries explore the unique narratives of each site: how they were founded, what methods they utilized to ignite change, transformed their communities and ultimately, how they inspired projects of social inclusion throughout Europe.

The videos tell the comprehensive story of each unique Observatory Case: their histories, the people behind them, their structures, financial models and future aspirations.
